How many times have you thought or said something along the line of, “I can’t control how I feel. The fear, sadness, anger (or insert your own emotion here) is just too strong.” Because you didn’t know you have the power to control and change how you feel, you have allowed those negative feelings to grow and eventually to overpower you. Over time, you learn to believe that you are powerless against your feelings and that is “just the way you are”.

In 2006, I decided to stop prescribing medication for emotional health problems. I left a thriving medical practice in pursuit of more holistic options that could help people overcome their problems and take control of their lives instead of just managing the symptoms. In my quest for knowledge, I learned something very simple, yet very powerful, “Change your thoughts, change your life!” The more I practiced these new holistic options, the more excited I grew, and the more committed I became. I was on a mission to learn all I could about the mind and how to transform limiting beliefs into healthy, positive, and empowering ones.
Throughout the past seven years, I have helped hundreds of clients reclaim the power within themselves by teaching them how to take control of their thoughts and feelings. With every first session, I would help my client set up a solid foundation for success by teaching them about their mind, how their mind works, and how they can start reprogramming their mind. It’s a lot to absorb, so many clients asked me to send them a written summary as a reminder. After so much client feedback, the obvious next step was to document that information in a book. As the writing began to take shape, I became more excited at the possibility of reaching many more people through a published book — to help anyone who wants to learn how to understand and control their thoughts and feelings. And even though the information contained in the book applies to anyone, whether they are young or old, whether they are male or female, I wrote it for the teen audience because I have a passion for working with teens.
You don’t know what you don’t know, and when you find out how your mind works and you actively practice taking control of your thoughts and feelings, your life will never be the same. You have the power to create the life you want!
