The Story Behind One Way Ticket Home by K.C. Hardy

One-Way Ticket Home is a debut novel based on true events in Kristie Hardy’s life. It was Kristie’s desire to share her story and struggles with women everywhere in order to help them victoriously face their own personal battles.  She wanted to show how one-way-ticket-homeGod had brought her through and healed her from metastatic breast cancer.  She feels that if her struggles even help just one person then it will all have been worthwhile.   It was also important to Kristie that women realize that God is not a respecter of persons.  We don’t have to be perfect for him to love us and reach us right where we are. His word does not return void and He desires to heal us—whether that be physically, mentally, emotionally or all of the above.

Also, when Kristie was volunteering with Reach to Recovery for the American Cancer Society after her mastectomy, she realized that many women who suffer from ‘female’ cancers, such as breast and ovarian have been in abusive relationships of some kind. The knowledge of how destructive abuse is to our bodies and realizing how important it is to stop the cycle of abuse, can perhaps one day save a life.

Kristie hopes that others will see their own journey in her own.  One-Way Ticket Home is dedicated to the memory of several of her close friends who were by Kristie’s side during her battles, but now have sadly lost their own.

After almost being picked up by a couple of big traditional publishers, Kristie and Cate decided to maintain more control over their book and self-publish.  Staying true to the authenticity of the story was very important to them as they wanted to reach as many women as possible.

Thank you for inviting us to be on your blog!  It’s been a pleasure.
